About WGES

Willow Grove Elementary in Thiells, NY, sits on land with a surprisingly rich backstory. Long before students filled the hallways, these grounds were open countryside and working farmland connected to Letchworth Village in the early 1900s. As North Rockland grew, the land was turned into a school and officially opened its doors in 1966 as Willow Grove Middle School. It has served as a North Rockland fixture for more than four decades!

In 2007, we turned a brand-new page when Willow Grove officially transitioned into an upper elementary school for our growing learners in grades 4-6. Today, WGES is a vibrant, joyful, and supportive learning community where staff and students are empowered to thrive. We cultivate a love of learning, celebrate individual strengths, and foster a sense of belonging, making every day an exciting adventure in education!
