Willow Grove is starting our first BookJam. It’s an opportunity for our entire school, students and adults, to read the same book, and have weekly time to talk about what we are reading. Students, teachers, secretaries, custodians, counselors, food service members and all other adults in our school will be reading Because of Mr. Terupt by Rob Buyea, a story told from the perspective of seven students in fifth grade at Snow Hill School. These students don’t have much in common, and they’ve never gotten along. Then a new teacher arrives at Snow Hill, who helps these students discover their inner strengths, as well as the importance of depending on each other.
We are excited to read this book together! Watch for more information here on our website as we explore the world of Snow Hill School!!
All Willow Grove Grade 4 students had the opportunity during the last week of October to visit the Garner Arts Center in Garnerville. This hometown center of creativity provided experiences for our students to look at the world from new and different perspectives. The students got the chance to be artists themselves, and also spent some time interacting with the resident professionals who call the Center their home. This is the second year that North Rockland students in Grade 4 visited the Center, and Willow Grove thanks all the artists who shared their talents with us!!
